January 14, 2008 Bill Balkwill observed a flock of six or seven at tree top height in the woodland.
On January 13, 2008, Jack Balkwill saw a flock of five or six Blue Jays descend onto the back door patio accompanied by a single American Robin.
White-tailed Deer have come together in the Balkwill Woodlands this winter. Seven deer were observed of which two were does, one of which was quite fat. Another group of four "jumped up," one of which was a buck.
Two Northern Harriers were observed at the same time over the Balkwill Lands on January 13, 2008. This observation reminded Bill Balkwill of a time fifty years ago when Northern Harriers raised young on the Balkwill Lands.
