CSLT Third Annual General Meeting

The evening began with a supper which included Vegetable Cobbler, Eggplant and Potato Curry, Celery Brown Betty, Mushroom and Artichoke Lasagna, Braised Fennel with Parsnips, and Wild Rice with Mushrooms and Apricots. Greek Salad was on the buffet table as was David Ainslie's incredible organic bread. Desserts included Rosie Schwartz's "Low Cal" Chocolate Marble Cake, Carrot Cake with Creamy Cheese Frosting and fresh fruit.

CSLT Director David Ainslie and Master of Ceremonies for the evening welcomed guests Paul DesJardins, Klara Gorelik, Jackie Lucier, new member Dave Munro, Bruno Sfalcin and Wayne Robinson. David drew everyone's attention to the Land Trust's Natural Heritage Preservation Strategy and the mission statement of the Land Trust which is a summation of the work the Land Trust is undertaking.

Terry Anderson made a motion to accept the agenda for the AGM and Patricia Rhoads seconded the motion.

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on March 3, 2005 were distributed. Terry Anderson made a motion to accept the minutes and Bill Balkwill seconded the motion. All were in favour.

Treasurer Tom Hurst provided a 2005 financial summary which was distributed for comments. Terry Anderson made a motion to accept the minutes and Helen Moore seconded the motion. All were in favour.

Director David Ainslie introduced CSLT member and guest speaker Terry Anderson who has been a member of the Canadian Chestnut Council (CCC) for five years holding the office of Vice President and since October, 2005 as President of the CCC. Terry provided an informative Power Point presentation as summarized elsewhere in this newsletter.
