The Giovanni Caboto Club invites local charities to apply and take part in the Club's popular fund raising pasta nights. The Canada South Land Trust wrote a letter of application and was accepted to take part on July 8, 2009 along with the eleven other charities throughout 2009
The designated night is the first Wednesday of each month (except for holidays), beginning February 2009 for the next group of charities. A generous pasta buffet is served along with a green salad, dessert and beverage. Take out is also available. Some charities participate in a Pasta Gala in November or December with 300 or more guests enjoying a dinner and silent auction.
Every charity is encouraged to invite their friends and members to support each pasta night throughout the year as the proceeds are shared equally among the twelve charities. Each charity has a particular month for which they are responsible. For their night, charities are encouraged to advertise in the local media and to remind friends and members to especially support their charity on their designated pasta night.
