Canada South Land Trust Directors Profiles

Terry Anderson

Terry Anderson is a founding director of the Canada South Land Trust. A research scientist at the Harrow Research Station, Terry is a member of the Essex County Woodlot Owners Association and the Canadian Chestnut Council.

Over the past few years, Terry has invited his co-workers to enjoy a Saturday afternoon strolling through his woodlot to view the spectacular early spring floral display in his fine woodlot. Seed collectors with the Natural Habitat Restoration Program visited Terry's woodlot in the Town of Kingsville (Gosfield South Township) to collect the seed from Flowering Purple Raspberry which grows in thickets within Terry's woodlot.

David Ainslie

David Ainslie is a founding director of the Canada South Land Trust. David is the owner of Goldenrod Farms which is noted for its organically grown wheat and grains.

David maintains a 25 acre woodlot in the Town of Leamington (Mersea Township) and has undertaken a woodlot restoration near Comber.

Tom Hurst

Tom Hurst is a founding director of the Canada South Land Trust, currently holding the position of Treasurer. Tom, a viewing optics expert employed by Pelee Wings Nature Store (Town of Leamington), served as President of the Essex County Field Naturalists' Club for ten years, encouraging an interest in the appreciation and preservation of natural habitat by both ECFNC members and residents of Essex County.

Betty Learmouth

Betty Learmouth is a founding director of the Canada South Land Trust, currently holding the position of President. Betty, a retired teacher-librarian, has been active in a number of Essex County organizations including the Backyard Habitat Program, the Essex County Field Naturalists' Club, the Holiday Beach Migration Observatory and the Little River Enhancement Group Windsor and Essex County. Through these organizations, Betty has participated in a variety of activities and programs to monitor and preserve wildlife and natural habitat in Essex County.

Marie Deneau
